Scripture: I Corinthians 13:1-13

8:30 AM Order of Service Welcome and Announcements

Call to Worship:
Leader: May we listen to the waking song of the day,
People: A song of sunlight stretching, light dancing, wind breathing
and the day stirring into life

Leader: May we listen to God's song,; let it be our song,
People: A song of love, a word shared,
acts of grace given, hope
alive to the life of the world!

Leader: May we listen to the song
and find the words within us, O God
People: That we may join in with all our hearts!

Hymn of Praise:  #CH #93

Lighting of the Candles
Children are welcome to come forward.
Leader:  In the beginning, God said,
People: 'Let there be light' and there was light!
Leader: We light these candles today,
People: Because God is with us in this time and in this place!

Invocation & Lord's Prayer

O loving God,

We come to worship today to hear of faith, hope and love,
to sound out your kingdom. We know that doubt, fear and hatred
can shake even the strongest. Love us into strong, flexible people.
Fill us with your compassion, as you filled your son Jesus Christ,

who taught us to pray, Our Father...
